Roberta di Camerino, by Fiora Gandolfi

Roberta di Camerino

The exciting biography of a Venetian woman who, before "Made In Italy" had been invented, created a fashion line which was very particular. Taking as her starting point the Venetian traditions of velvet and silk she developed a look inspired by a ray of light reflecting off the waters of the Venetian canals which radiated geometrically across her garments in pink, green and blue. Everything that she produced was distinctive, absolutely practical, wearable and convenient when travelling. Her designs extended beyond clothing to bags, scarves, umbrellas and more, and were instantly recognisable from 5th Avenue to Rue de la Paix to Piazza di Spagna.
